How are Internships
Approved
by the Dept?
|
The basic qualifications for
an internship sponsored by the department are: Juniors or
Seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The
student will be expected to work at least 120 hours for the semester
(8-10 hours per week). The
Career Development Center (CDC) maintains internships in a password-protected
area of the Center’s web site called eRecruiting. Students
must attend a eRecruiting
Activation Meeting to access these internship
listings.
|
Grading: |
Professor Kressel will
be the overall evaluator of the student’s internship. |
The Overall Requirements Include: |
§
Internship supervisors will complete an evaluation form towards
the end of the semester that rates the intern’s performance. These
ratings are considered in deciding whether intern performance warrants
a satisfactory grade.
§
Students will meet in a classroom setting and participate in
a presentation at the end of the semester.
§
The student’s final grade will be base upon their site
supervisor’s evaluation and Professor Kressel’s evaluation
of all materials the student produced in the course of the internship,
including journals and a final paper.
