JUNIOR YEAR, Fall and Spring
  • Research institutions and programs (www.gradschools.com)
  • Talk to advisors about application requirements
  • Plan preparation for Graduate Admissions Testing
  • Investigate Financial Aid resources and prospects
  • Open your personal Credentials File at CDC
  • Begin obtaining "Letters of Recommendation"

JUNIOR YEAR, Summer

  • Take required graduate admissions test(s), GRE, GMAS, MCAT, etc.
  • Request application materials
  • Visit institutions, attend open houses if possible
  • Begin writing your personal statement
  • Have the draft of your personal statement reviewed by a career counselor
  • Verify application(s) deadlines for targeted schools of interest
SENIOR YEAR, Fall
  • Obtain Letters of Recommendation
  • Complete your personal statement/essay
  • Have a career counselor approve your personal statement
  • Take graduate admissions test(s), if you have not already
  • Mail completed applications
SENIOR YEAR, Spring
  • Register for Graduate & Professional School Financial Aid Service, if required
  • Check with institutions before the deadline to make sure your application is complete
  • Visit institutions that accept you, if possible
  • Send your deposit to the institution of your choice
  • Notify other colleges and universities that accepted you of your decision so that they may admit students on their waiting list
  • Send Thank You letters to people who wrote your recommendation letters informing them of your success
