- Talk to advisors about application requirements
- Plan preparation for Graduate Admissions Testing
- Investigate Financial Aid resources and prospects
- Open your personal Credentials File at CDC
- Begin obtaining "Letters of Recommendation"
- Take required graduate admissions test(s), GRE, GMAS, MCAT, etc.
- Request application materials
- Visit institutions, attend open houses if possible
- Begin writing your personal statement
- Have the draft of your personal statement reviewed by a career counselor
- Verify application(s) deadlines for targeted schools of interest
- Obtain Letters of Recommendation
- Complete your personal statement/essay
- Have a career counselor approve your personal statement
- Take graduate admissions test(s), if you have not already
- Mail completed applications
- Register for Graduate & Professional School Financial Aid Service,
if required
- Check with institutions before the deadline to make sure your application
is complete
- Visit institutions that accept you, if possible
- Send your deposit to the institution of your choice
- Notify other colleges and universities that accepted you of your decision
so that they may admit students on their waiting list
- Send Thank You letters to people who wrote your recommendation letters
informing them of your success
